Scouting has been a proud part of life in Crook and Weardale since [insert year], offering young people the chance to grow in confidence, learn new skills, and enjoy adventures in the great outdoors.
Our district is home to five well-established Scout Groups, each with its own unique character and strong ties to the local community:
• 1st Howden-le-Wear
• 1st Stanhope
• 1st Tow Law
• 1st Wolsingham
• 4th Willington
Together, we provide a welcoming and active Scouting experience for children and young people across the region.
At Crook and Weardale Scouts, we believe in preparing young people with skills for life. As part of the UK Scout Association, our group serves the communities of Crook, Weardale, and surrounding areas in County Durham. We offer fun, challenge, and adventure to young people aged 4 to 18 through our four sections: Squirrels, Beavers, Cubs, and Scouts.
Whether we're hiking through the dales, building campfires, learning first aid, or helping out in the community, everything we do is aimed at developing confidence, resilience, and leadership skills. Our dedicated team of volunteer leaders and supporters work hard to create a safe and inclusive environment where every child can thrive.
